Justin Kennedy led boys in the win; Riley Hebler lead scorer in girls’ loss

BOYS | SANFORD 57, GORHAM 35: Senior Justin Kennedy had 13 of his 21 points in the second half to pace the Spartans (2-0) as they broke open a 25-19 halftime margin and cruised past the Rams (0-2) at Sanford.
Sophomore Tanner McCann contributed 11 points for Sanford, and senior Zach McMurty tossed in nine.
Ashton Leclerc led Gorham with 22 points.
The Spartans are now 2-0 and play Friday, Dec. 17 at South Portland.

GIRLS | GORHAM 48, SANFORD 27: Ellie Gay scored 17 points as the Rams (2-0) used a 19-5 third quarter to pull away from the Spartans (0-2) at Gorham.
Sophia Michaud chipped in with 11 points. Gay had 11 in the third quarter.
Riley Hebler scored nine points for Sanford.
The Spartans are now 0-2 and play at home Friday, Dec. 17 against South Portland.
