Both girls and boys teams fall to rival

The Varsity Girls and Boys basketball both teams faced Massabesic in the first round of playoffs, ultimately falling and closing out their seasons.

GIRLS | MASSABESIC 56, SANFORD 35: Junior Riley Hebler led Sanford with 12 points and Senior Jaylyn Bartolome came close with 11. 

Micaela Jacobs led the Mustangs with 22 points and Hannah Samson contributed 14 points. 

Massabesic will go on to face Gorham in the Semifinals next Wednesday at the Portland Cross Insurance Arena.

BOYS | MASSABESIC 40, SANFORD 38: Senior Justin Kennedy led Sanford with 14 points and Senior Connor Curcio got 13. 

James Saccuzzo scored 23 points for the Mustangs and Isaiah Searles contributed 8 points. 

Massabesic will go on to the Semifinals and play against Thornton Academy next Thursday at the Portland Cross Insurance Arena.
