Spring Sports Award Banquet Held June 2

Spring Sports Teams Celebrated their 2022 Athletes

On Thursday, June 2nd all spring sports coaches, athletes, and families were invited to attend an end-of-year banquet in the Sanford Performing Arts Center to recognize all participants and honor some of the top performers and athletes of the season.

This was Athletic Administrator Gordon Salls’ final Spring Awards Banquet after 34 years serving Sanford High School. This was also Coach Steven Walker’s 38th and final year coaching Girls Track & Field. We thank them both for their time and dedication to our schools.

Below is a recap of the top awards handed out for the evening, which include most valuable players, most improved players, coaches awards, Spartan Awards, and more. Congratulations to all spring sports participants and award winners.

Baseball

  • Spartan Award: Hayden Connarton & Tanner McCann
  • Coaches Award: Parker Knapp & Tanner McCann
  • Most Improved: Makai Bougie
  • MVP: Justin Gould

Boys Lacrosse

  • Coaches Award: Hunter Ferland Stevens
  • Most Improved: Simon Lanigan
  • Utility Player: Parker Pease
  • MVP: Tyler Pitman

Girls Lacrosse

  • Coaches Award: Elaina Hanselmann
  • Spartan Award: Miranda Tanguay
  • Most Improved: Savannah Knight
  • Rookie of the Year: Lila Bernier
