After 72 years, the Mavrakos family has sold Ted’s to new owner and Southern Maine native, Jason Cole, who grew up visiting Ted’s in the springtime with his parents and grandparents.

Cole has big plans for this family-friendly restaurant, including breakfast, a bakery and of course, the ice cream many Mainers have grown to love. The final details are still in the process of development, but the wait will most definitely be worthwhile.

After Memorial Day Weekend, Cole and staff members are planning to be open seven days a week and adding in-service dining.

Recently, Ted’s hosted a grand opening including a ribbon-cutting ceremony and various raffles for the customers. However, because of a medical emergency, a POS system breakdown and kitchen complications, the restaurant was forced to temporarily close down.

Despite minor setbacks, faculty and staff have been working very hard to provide great service for customers, and are gaining a lot of positive feedback from the community.

According to feedback received from Cole, “The servers were amazing and the food came out super hot and very well prepared and tasted amazing.”

Many Sanford High School students will be working at Ted’s, so look out to see some familiar faces and enjoy a great experience dining with your family and friends!
